GlasgowTaste the best of Scotland on this introduction to some of the country’s most celebrated food and drink.
Enjoy nine days’ self-drive touring across Scotland with time in its two largest cities too, which have become renowned foodie destinations in their own right. On this specially curated holiday, you will explore Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland’s premier whisky producing region in Speyside as well as Oban on the west coast, known as Scotland’s seafood capital.
Over the past three decades, Scotland has transformed into one of the world’s most exciting food and drink destinations, celebrated for its quality, authenticity, and innovation. Once known primarily for traditional staples like whisky, salmon, and shortbread, Scotland’s culinary landscape has evolved to showcase a much broader range of produce and experiences. Farmers, fishers, and producers across the country have embraced sustainability and provenance, ensuring that everything from Highland beef to Shetland seafood is traceable and responsibly sourced. This commitment to quality has been matched by a growing network of award-winning restaurants, farmers’ markets, and food festivals that highlight the best of Scottish ingredients and craftsmanship.
At the same time, Scotland’s drinks sector has flourished beyond its world-famous whisky heritage. The rise of craft gin, innovative breweries, and low- and no-alcohol producers has added new dimensions to Scotland’s reputation for excellence. Visitors can now explore vibrant food trails, distillery tours, and immersive tasting experiences that connect them directly with the people and places behind each product. Together, these developments have helped redefine Scotland’s global image—from a land of hearty tradition to a modern culinary nation that blends heritage, creativity, and sustainability in every bite and sip.
