Designed as a luxury ‘taster’ for the discerning palate, our unique three-centre, week-long break delivers a treat for the taste-buds at every turn.

Take an exclusive guided walk around the historic streets of Scotland’s capital, taking in five of the city’s best restaurants along the way; familiarise yourself with the story – and taste – of gin at one of the city’s distilleries; learn to bake bread with a top chef at an acclaimed restaurant amidst a fabulous highland backdrop and finish off in style with two nights at The Peat Inn, a Michelin-starred restaurant-with-rooms, while taking in one or two of the best local food experiences.

Details

Day One – Edinburgh

Arrive at your hotel in Edinburgh’s historic New Town, specially chosen to make your visit one to remember. One of the best of the city’s crop of new boutique residences, you’re sure to love the blend of traditional and modern, as well as the fabulous breakfast.

Set off on a unique walking foodie tour of the city, one of the newest foodie experiences on offer in Edinburgh. With a maximum of 10 guests, you’ll enjoy a guided live-audio tour – designed so you can wander off a little at your leisure while continuing to enjoy the expertly delivered commentary on some of the most picturesque and historic spots in this UNESCO World Heritage site. Along the route, you’ll be stopping at five of Edinburgh’s best restaurants to enjoy taster-plates of each establishment’s signature dish, with a drink or two added for good measure.

Day Two – a leisurely start in the capital

One of your hotel’s most appealing features is breakfast until 11am (noon at weekends) so perhaps you’d like to take the opportunity to ease yourself in to the day? Later, take the short stroll to one of the city’s distilleries to hear the fascinating story of gin, get closer to the stills than you’d believe and indulge in a comprehensive and educational tasting of the range on offer from one of the city’s very own boutique gin-makers in a classic Edinburgh subterranean setting. Make sure you’ve no driving planned for the rest of the day!

We’ll provide a wealth of recommendations for further sightseeing, eating and drinking options to ensure you get the most out of your visit to this stupendous city.

Day Three – make your way to the Highland gateway

After another excellent Edinburgh breakfast, collect the rental car of your choice (pre-arranged for you by us) and make your way out of the city, in to Central Scotland and northwards to your second hotel.

Situated on the banks of Loch Voil, down a winding single-track road, this family owned boutique hotel on a working farmyard has garnered an enviable reputation for both its food and accommodation. We’re sure you’ll find it all too easy to settle in to an entirely different pace in one of just 14 luxury bedrooms, and in the sumptuous guest lounge, before indulging in a five-course gourmet dinner in the conservatory, ducks waddling past and the odd stray sheep poking its nose around.

Day Four – your very own ‘Bake-off’

After a suitably luxurious breakfast, you’ll be taken behind-the-scenes for an exclusive bakery class with one of the top chefs at your hotel’s acclaimed restaurant. Working to a unique family recipe, you’ll be given step-by-step instruction, from raw ingredients to finished product, and your results will be judged with disarming honesty! This once-in-a-lifetime experience is perfect for the novice and expert alike.

Day Five – relax or explore, the choice is yours

The scenery around your hotel is some of the country’s best, with charming villages, eye-popping landscape and superb walking- and driving-routes right on your doorstep. Or leave the car behind for the day and hike from the bottom of the drive, go fishing on the loch or climb Ben More – not forgetting your specially prepared packed-lunch – before returning to put your feet up by the fire before dinner.

Day Six – Kingdom calling!

Take a leisurely breakfast and prepare to say goodbye to this extraordinary location, getting ready for another treat in the Kingdom of Fife. You’ll enjoy a scenic drive through wonderful landscapes, perhaps stopping at one of our recommended lunch-spots along the way, before arriving at your final destination.

The Peat Inn is a Michelin-starred, family owned-and-run restaurant with luxury rooms is the location for your last two-night stop. Set in a 17th-century building, your hotel has, down the centuries, served as hotel, pub, coaching inn and restaurant, and enjoys an uninterrupted history of offering hospitality for over 250 years.

The quality of food and accommodation on offer here is virtually unrivalled, and is the perfect place to enjoy your last two nights away.

Day Seven – dairy, drams and flavours of the deep

Within a stone’s throw of your hotel you’ll find some of the UK’s finest catch-to-plate seafood restaurants, where a delicious lunch will set you up perfectly for an afternoon experiencing the county’s newest distillery. Set within the rescued former-ruins of ancient farm buildings, this distillery tells the very essence of a ‘dream-to-dram’ story and you’ll have the chance to try a drop or two of the uniquely smooth amber nectar produced here (making sure to provide soft drinks for the driver) before returning to your hotel for a fabulous holiday’s-end dinner.

Day Eight – Return home

£1205 per person for April & October, £1285 per person for May, June, July & September, and £1395 per person in August based on 2 people sharing a room for 7 nights on a bed & breakfast basis (dinner is included on three of your nights).

Your holiday also includes a foodie walking tour of Edinburgh, an experience and tasting at Edinburgh Gin, a ‘Bake Off’experience at your hotel in The Trossachs, a six course tasting menu at your Michelin-starred hotel in St Andrews, and a luxury tour of Kingsbarns distillery.
