Value for Money Guarantee
We continue to offer our McKinlay Kidd value for money guarantee on all bookings. All our holiday prices include a service charge of £9 per person per night towards the costs we incur in researching, planning and designing your holiday. We guarantee to refund this service charge if you believe that arranging your holiday through McKinlay Kidd has not met your expectations for value. All we ask is that you write to us within seven days of your return and explain your reason for claiming the refund. This will ensure that we can improve the experience for all our future guests.
McKinlay Kidd is a bonded tour operator – your holiday and money are fully protected in line with prevailing legislation.
If restrictions relating to Covid-19 are imposed at the destination of your trip resulting in significant changes which mean we cannot fulfil your holiday on the dates you have booked, we will offer you an alternative of equivalent or higher value if possible or a free postponement. If this is not acceptable, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days. This situation applies, for example, if your destination is Scotland and the Scottish Government were to impose restrictions on overnight visitors in the area you are due to visit covering the time of your trip.
McKinlay Kidd has been established since 2003 and is still owned by the founders, Robert Kidd and Heather McKinlay, working with an experienced, talented and professional team. Covid-19 brought emotional and financial challenges beyond anything we could have envisaged when we started the business. Your health and safety is paramount and we complied throughout with government legislation and advised travellers of prevailing guidance.
Flexibility Up To Eight Weeks Before Departure for bookings made between 9th July 2020 and 23rd December 2022
For new bookings made after 9th July 2020 but before 23rd December 2022, if you need to postpone your trip to a later date for any reason, we will do this for you free of charge on one occasion providing:
- You advise us eight or more weeks in advance of the departure date
- You provide us at that time with your new travel dates
- You are not requesting any significant changes to the trip
- Your new date of travel is before 31st December 2022 for tailor-made and self-guided trips or before 31st December 2023 for scheduled small group guided tours
For bookings moving by more than a year from the original departure date, we will have to apply increases in-line with our costs and will advise you of this as far in advance as possible, at least eight weeks prior to departure. If it is not possible for us to rearrange the trip or if you do not accept the alternative we offer, we will provide you with a cancellation invoice in accordance with our terms and conditions for you to make a travel insurance claim.
Thanks to our prudent stance over the years, we have the resources and stability to look ahead positively. We owe particular thanks to our customers, past, present and future, for supporting us in doing what we do best – helping you to see Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales differently.
We look forward to welcoming you in future.
