The Loch Broom area surrounding Ullapool. My family come from this part of the world, so I’ve visited the area several times a year for my whole life and I absolutely adore the hills, glens, and lochs that adorn the landscape. One thing that I love about the area is that I always find that there’s something new to discover, whether it be a scarcely tread upon trail or a new artsy eatery.
I’ve had it on my mind to travel further into Ireland for many years now. Whilst I’ve had great times in both Belfast and Dublin, I’ve yet to take further steps into rural Ireland and would love to journey from the west coast down to Cork. Having various friends sprinkled around the Emerald Isle means that I hope this trip shall come sooner rather than later!
Without a doubt, the coast of West Cork in Ireland. In the summertime this part of the world is a haze of brightly painted shop and pub fronts, hanging baskets full of pansies, fuchsia bushes and wild flowers lining the roads and long lazy evenings with many superb golden beaches to explore.
I’d really love to get to Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland’s only inhabited offshore island soon, and see more of Ireland’s Ancient East!
Somewhere I could keep going back to again and again is Skye. The drive to the island has stunning scenery all around, and once you’re there it’s even more impressive. The island has so much to offer like cute villages, waterfalls, sandy beaches and rugged mountains. So much to explore!
My next adventures include a road trip to the south west coast of England covering St Ives, Cornwall and Devon. I can’t wait to explore the Channel Islands too for the combination of history and architecture in a beautiful location!
I’d have to say the Argyll area! My family had a holiday home there so I spent many summers outside exploring.
Ireland! I’d love to experience the coastal scenery and enjoy the local Irish culture. The Cliffs of Moher are at the top of my list with a few nights in Galway.
My next trip will be to the Outer Hebrides, somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit. I’d like to visit the Prehistoric Callanish standing Stones on the Isle of Lewis, witness Harris Tweed being woven on Harris and experience some of the wonderful wildlife on the Uists (just to name a few).
Yorkshire is home, and nowhere feels quite the same. Nothing beats sharing a picnic with my family on a Yorkshire hilltop, surrounded by breathtaking views on a summer’s day.
Definitely Donegal – Ireland’s most northernly county with the longest coastline in the country. Donegal boasts some of the most breath-taking scenery in Ireland, with lots of blue flag beaches and it was even used as a film location for Star Wars Episode VIII.
I’m looking forward to exploring the Outer Hebrides and experiencing the wildlife and history that these islands have to offer. I also love my food and I’m keen to visit the artisan producers on the islands which are renowned for their fresh seafood, smokehouses and distilleries.

My favourite place to visit is Dunblane, where I grew up. It is a city steeped in history – from the awe-inspiring Dunblane Cathedral, where I was lucky enough to get married, to its small-town village feel, characterised by local fêtes and a strong sense of community. The beautiful parks, where I spent countless hours exploring as a child, continue to hold a special place for me, and I still visit often to spend time with my family and create new memories with my own daughter.
I’d like to spend some time in Cork, exploring Kinsale is at the top of my list! Wandering through the colourful city streets, visiting some of the pretty craft shops and of course, discovering some of the local restaurants and pubs (it’s the gourmet hub of Ireland for a reason!).
I went on a trip to Orkney recently and it really captured my heart. From the rugged cliffs and the windswept coastlines to the fascinating archaeology and welcoming locals, it really is a special part of Scotland.
After falling in love with Orkney, Shetland is definitely next on my list! I am really keen to spend some time on the Isle of Noss – one of the most spectacular wildlife sites in Europe.
I love Pitlochry. There is so many things to do, and it is such a beautiful area. Minutes away is the Dunkeld Hermitage, and especially in October/November the Enchanted Forest is an amazing activity.
My favourite place is Derry, a small but vibrant city in the north-west of Ireland. I’ve visited three or four times now, and each trip I find something else there and I appreciate it even more. It’s Full of history and culture, and the people there are always friendly, with a warm welcome and ready for chat and guaranteed to find some live music somewhere not matter the day of the week!
The Lake District is next on my travel wish list. I’d love to explore the beautiful scenery, take in the peaceful lakes, and enjoy a few countryside walks. It seems like the perfect place to relax and recharge.

Glasgow – it’s one of the most vibrant cities in the world and home to an amazing foodie and nightlife scene while the ‘bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond are only half an hour away. I suppose I would say that as it’s my hometown!
Following my first trip to Northern Ireland where I experienced the Giant’s Causeway and Titanic Belfast, I’m desperate to get down to the south coast of Ireland and I am looking forward to exploring County Cork and County Kerry for my next adventure with some great coastal walks, excellent food and lots of Guinness!

I have always loved going up to the Scottish Highlands to visit my family. There is something so beautiful and peaceful about this part of the world: it’s the perfect place to clear my head and take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The scenery is fantastic and you might even spot a stag on the hills as you drive north.
I love the thought of walking the cobbled streets of Galway in Ireland then catching a band or two playing in Dublin.

Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, all 2600km of it! Especially the coast of Co Clare between Ballyvaughan and the Loop Head peninsula, which I love to ride on my motorcycle.
Yorkshire – I have a list of castles and their gardens I really want to see in person, and it’s always great to visit the Dales while I’m there.

After spending a lot of time in Ireland recently, I’d now like to experience more of what’s on my doorstep in Scotland. The Outer Hebrides look absolutely stunning – I can just picture myself walking along the expansive white-sand beaches on Harris.

My favourite place is Loch Lomond. It’s only around 30 minutes from my home city of Glasgow, so it’s the perfect place to escape with my dog and enjoy some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery.
I’d love to visit the Isle of Mull! I’ve heard so many great things about its incredible scenery and amazing wildlife, and I’d love to experience it all for myself.

Shetland always has a special place in my heart. My last trip there was made even more magical as I managed to meet up with an old friend. The last time we spoke was when she’d left university in 1995 and with no mobile phone back then, we lost touch. As soon as I told my story to the driver collecting me from the airport, he stopped and made a few calls. To my delight, he set up a dinner for us to meet the following night! I share that story as it really sums up the kind-heartedness of every single person you meet along the way there
