The 2025 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

The 2025 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will run from the 1st to 23rd August with performances on Monday to Friday at 9.30pm, and on Saturday at 6.15 pm and 9.30pm. Friday 22 August also sees two performances at 6.15pm and at 9.30pm. There is no performance on Sundays.

The Tattoo promises to be brighter and bolder than ever before in 2025. In celebration of 75 years of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, The Heroes Who Made Us will be performed on the iconic Edinburgh Castle Esplanade. The Heroes Who Made Us will be the first Tattoo from new Creative Director Alan Lane, who places storytelling at the heart of his creative process. The performance will also nod to Scotland’s proud history in the arts and military connection with Skipinnish’s song ‘Eagle’s Wing’ being performed as part of the finale with the whole cast, supported by state-of-the-art projection and lighting.

The Tattoo, as always, is committed to delivering the best entertainment experience and inspired spectacle. With a unique ability, through its performers, music and setting, to evoke the emotions and stir the senses like nothing else, the Tattoo will wow audiences once again. You will have the chance to experience the exceptional mix of military precision, awe inspiring dance and sparkling musical entertainment, intertwined with state of the art projection, lighting and exciting creative elements

Your Hotel – Sunday to Tuesday arrivals

Your stay is in a boutique hotel close to Holyrood Park, to the south of the centre of this captivating city. Built in the 1750’s and magnificently restored, your hotel offers a charming, warm and friendly atmosphere with all the benefits of modern day service, comfort and Scottish hospitality.

The city centre is easily accessed by local bus or short taxi ride.

For the evening of the Tattoo you will enjoy private transfers to and from the venue.

Your Hotel – Wednesday to Friday arrivals

You will stay in a most convenient location next to Waverley Station and moments’ walk from the Royal Mile.

Placing the coolly furnished reception, lounge and dining area – all retro-modern and Scandi-chic – on the seventh floor is something of a masterstroke. Here, arriving guests are afforded quite superb views North across the city and the Firth of Forth to the Kingdom of Fife through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Rooms are finished to an exacting standard, too, with modern bathrooms, exposed timber, the crispest of linens and sumptuous beds, as well as high-quality conveniences helpfully provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

For the evening of the Tattoo, you’re just a short walk away from the venue.

Location

This short break to the 2025 Tattoo is based in Edinburgh, which can be easily reached by train or plane from elsewhere in the UK. A car is not necessary to explore the city during your stay.

This holiday is available to book for August 2025.

Sunday to Tuesday arrivals priced at £995 per person based on 2 people sharing a double room ensuite, for 3 nights as described on a bed & breakfast basis in our hand-picked 4 star hotel. Wednesday to Saturday arrivals are priced at £1095 per person.

Single occupancy supplement is available on request.

Price includes a ticket for an East Stand seat for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. To make your evening more comfortable we also include private transfers from your hotel to and from the venue.
